Minor C Ladies Football County Champions!
Huge well done to Clarecastle Minor Football ladies team who had a nine-point victory over Cuil Gaels in Ballnacally this afternoon in the County Final.
Clarecastle made a strong start with Biborka Benko opening the scoring before Aoibhinn Corbett found the net to help Clarecastle establish an early lead. Ciara Healy (0-2) added points from play in the first half, while Keeva Moloney also found the net as Clarecastle continued to build an advantage going into a the break.
Cuil Gaels worked hard throughout putting in a strong performance, keeping Clarecastle under pressure adding 9 points from both frees and play.
At half-time, Clarecastle led 3-2 to 0-9.
Clarecastle continued to push on in the second half, with goals from Aoibhinn Corbett and Ciara Healy extending their lead. Ciara Healy and Alli Donnelly also added points from play, while Alma Carey and Biborka Benko contributed further scores.
Clarecastle finished strongly to secure a 5-7 to 0-13 to be crowned Minor C Football Champions. Well done and well deserved on an excellent all round performance.
