Clarecastle GAA proudly hosted the John West LGFA Féile B Regional Competition on Saturday with our U15 girls producing a fantastic performances to be crowned Regional Féile B Champions.
The girls opened their campaign against St. Brendan’s (Galway), narrowly losing 3-9 to 2-4. They responded brilliantly in Round 2 with an outstanding 6-5 to 2-2 victory over St. Kevin’s (Roscommon) before securing another excellent win in Round 3, defeating Ahane (Limerick) 2-8 to 2-3 to book their place in the Cup semi-final.
In the Féile B Cup Semi-Final, Clarecastle continued their impressive form with a superb 4-4 to 1-2 victory over Annascaul/Castlegregory (Kerry) to reach the Regional Final.
The final saw Clarecastle face Donoughmore (Cork), and the girls produced another outstanding display to claim the title with a convincing 5-5 to 0-4 victory.
A brilliant all-round team performance saw Clarecastle take control from the opening minutes, leading 3-2 to 0-2 at half-time before adding two further goals and four points in the second half to seal a deserved win.
The girls played outstanding after recovering from their opening defeat to win four consecutive games and lift the John West Ladies Football Féile B Regional title on home soil.
