Saturday at the 2026 Stephen O'Keeffe Festival of Hurling has drawn to a close, and what a day it has been.
Six highly competitive games were played today, with tremendous skill, determination and sportsmanship on display throughout. Clarecastle are delighted to have secured their place in both the A and B finals tomorrow.
One of the highlights of the day was the addition of a brand new fixture to the SOK schedule, an exhibition game between the Clarecastle and Cuchulainns Under 11s. It proved to be a fantastic occasion and was thoroughly enjoyed by both the players and the spectators, adding another memorable chapter to the weekend.
Tomorrow morning, attention turns to two eagerly anticipated semi finals, with Roanmore taking on Cuchulainns in both the A and B competitions to decide who will meet Clarecastle in the finals.
Away from the action on the pitch, the boys had the chance to let off some steam this afternoon with a trip to Killaloe Water Park. We've heard on good authority that it was an absolute hit, and thankfully the rain stayed at home in Clarecastle, so the only soaking anyone got was in the lake!
It's been a wonderful two days of hurling, friendship and fun, bringing together young players from Clarecastle, Roanmore and Cuchulainns in the true spirit of the Stephen O'Keeffe Festival. We now look forward to one final day of great games, lasting memories and, no doubt, a fitting conclusion to another outstanding festival.
Finally, a sincere word of thanks to everyone who has kept the show on the road thus far. None of this would be possible without your time, commitment and generosity. Your efforts are what make weekends like this such a success.
Best of luck to all three clubs tomorrow. Here's hoping for two fantastic finals and a wonderful conclusion to another brilliant Stephen O'Keeffe Festival of Hurling.
