Inagh/Kilnamona advanced to the U16A Hurling Championship final after a strong second-half display saw them overcome Clarecastle on a 2-18 to 1-12 scoreline in Kilnamona this afternoon.
Clarecastle’s first-half goal from Sam Kelly kept the sides competitive, with Inagh/Kilnamona edging in front at the interval by 2 points on a score of 0-10 to 1-5.
However, two second-half goals and accurate point-taking allowed Inagh/Kilnamona to pull clear midway through the half.
Clarecastle battled right to the end, with strong efforts across the field. Fionn Plunkett, Harry O’Donoghue and Paddy Tuohy worked tirelessly, while Caoimhín Geraghty produced crucial saves throughout the game. Kiernan, Diarmaid Egan, Sam Kelly and Sean Kelly all contributed some excellent scores.
As the season concludes, hard luck to Clarecastle, and well done to the players and management on a great campaign and on reaching the semi-final.
Wishing Donal a speedy recovery after sustaining a leg injury early on in the game.
