
U16B Ladies Football Championship Final
Clarecastle vs Kilmurry/Ibrickane
Hard luck to our girls who gave it everything this evening in the U16B Football Championship Final against Kilmurry/Ibrickane in Coolmeen.
Clarecastle led by eight points at half-time after a strong first half, with a goal each from Aoibhinn and Ciara within three minutes just before the break.

KIB opened the second half with two quick points from play. Clarecastle replied with points from Alma and Ciara.
KIB then scored three unanswered points before Alma struck Clarecastleβs fourth goal. KIB kept the pressure on and responded with two goals of their own.
As full-time approached, Clarecastle were clinging to a narrow one point lead. However, deep into injury time, KIB were awarded a free which they converted to level the game, followed by a second free in the sixth minute of added time to edge ahead with a one point win.

It was a heartbreaking finish for the girls after a brave and battling performance. Well done to the entire panel and management on reaching the final and representing the club in a very entertaining game.
A Special Mention to Alma Carey who finished as top scorer contributing 1-7 and also to Kathy Slattery who pulled off several outstanding saves throughout the game.
