Congratulations to Clarecastle's Patrick Kelly who scored the winning point to secure hosts NUIG's place in tomorrow's Fitzgibbon Cup final. In a thrilling game against Davy Fitzgerald's LIT that went all the way to extra-time, wing-back Kelly had the tough task of marking Laois' Willie Hyland who was top scorer in last Sunday's National League tie between Clare and Laois but coped well and really came into his own in the second period of extra-time, even grabbing what proved to be the winning point after receiving the ball in space on the right. Two points up in injury-time, NUIG nearly let the game slip from their grasp when Joe Canning won a 20 metre free but the Galway star's stinging effort just scraped over the crossbar to leave only the minimum between the sides at the final whistle.

Patrick, who previously won a Fitzgibbon Cup with WIT in 2008, will now meet his former team-mates in tomorrow's final that takes place in Pearse Stadium at 3pm. Best of luck Pa from all in Clarecastle GAA club.
