Ger O'Loughlin maintained his perfect start to inter-county management with a 0-17 to 1-12 victory over Tipperary on Tuesday evening. Following on from his opening win over WIT, Sparrow's Clare took the notable scalp of the Munster champions in their own backyard thanks to a greater hunger and determination over the hour. Although Tipperary ensured a nervy finish to the game after Noel McGrath goaled in the 55th minute to cut the deficit to two, the fact remains that Clare thoroughly deserved their victory having led from start to finish with John Conlon (0-3), Cian Dillon and Clarecastle's own Jonathan Clancy (0-2) impressing most in the victory. Clare will now play Davy Fitzgerald's Waterford in the Waterford Crystal Cup Semi-Final on Sunday in Ballyduff Upper at 2pm.
