While there had been intermittent underage success over the last few years, this year's haul represented the club's most successful year this decade, with the undoubted highlight being the Under 14 hurlers' Feile win. For a club with the track record of Clarecastle's, it was surprising to many that it had been 36 years since the previous Feile na nÓg title but that unwanted record was smashed this year as the Under 14's stormed through the competition before going onto to do their club and county proud in the All-Ireland Féile Na nGael finals in June. Following on from that long overdue triumph, two new trophies were added to the club's Role of Honour when both Under 12 hurling squads won their respective B and 'Specials' championships.

In order to maintain that progress and in keeping with the door-to-door canvass visit that by now, most parishioners have received over the last two months, everybody is invited to attend and play their part in aiding the fledgling Magpies for the coming year. Don't just presume that others will automatically take up the mantle, come on board and help to continue the development of our young stars of the future. It's your club after all.

In order for the club to review last season, all underage mentors from 2009 in both hurling and football are asked to attend to a special review meeting in the clubhouse on Monday, December 28th at 7.30pm.
