The Annual General Meeting of the Clarecastle Handball and Squash Club took place on Tuesday evening last in the Sports Complex in Clarecastle. It was well attended and the following officers were elected for the coming year:

Chairman - Donal Carey Jnr

Secretary - Pat Hayes

Treasurer - Paul Murphy

Manager - Bernard Hanrahan

Social Officer - Donna Guinnane

Joint Coaches - Gabriel Sheridan and Derek Healy

The main topic of discussion on the night were financial matters and more significantly, preparations for next year's National Féile competition that will take place in Clare for the first time since 1987. The Clarecastle Sports Complex will be the handball headquarters for the tournament and everyone in attendance were eagerly looking forward to hosting it in the village. Also discussed was the refurbishment of the complex in the year ahead and the rejuvenation of the club in the recent years which now boasts over 100 young people under the age of 18 who train in the complex all year round.
